What Is It?
The Honda VFR800X Crossrunner is a mid-range adventure style bike and is related to the VFR800 sports tourer. It's powered by a liquid cooled 782 cc V4 engine with Variable Valve Timing (VTEC at 6,500 rpm), producing 104.6 bhp at 10,250 rpm and maximum torque at 8,500 rpm.
- Aluminium frame and single sided swingarm
- Dual 310 mm discs up front with Tokico four piston calipers
- 256 mm disc at the rear with two piston caliper
- ABS system
- Showa fork
- Adjustable rear shock
- 2-level traction control
- 815 mm / 835 mm seat
- 4->2->1 exhaust system
- 6 speed gearbox
The original VFR800X Crossrunner may have been a re-worked and restyled VFR, but with the growth in adventure bikes it sold well and justified the sharper styling of the 2015 model.
Compared to the 2011-2014 model the engine now has improved low to mid range torque, a tad more power, smoother VTEC transition, there's a lighter subframe, lighter swingarm, radiator now at the front, traction control, adjustable seat height, self-cancelling indicators, LED headlight and larger front discs with a move away from the old C-ABS system. The 10-spoke 17" wheels take a 120/70 tyre at the front and 180/55 at the rear.
Accessories include the Akrapovic exhaust, heated grips, quickshifter, quick release 29 litre panniers, luggage rack, 31 / 45 litre top box, centre stand, rear hugger, 12V socket, engine bars and LED fog lights.
