Yamaha XV950R For Sale

The 2014 Yamaha XV950R is an A2 licence friendly cruiser style bike and is powered by a 942cc V-Twin engine which puts out 51bhp. It's based on the XV950 and is also available as a cafe racer variant.

  • Low down torque, looks great
  • No gear indicator, no rev counter

What Is It?

It's powered by an air-cooled 942cc 60° V-Twin engine, producing 51bhp at 5,500rpm and maximum torque at just 3,000rpm. The engine, from the XVS950 Midnight Star, is a stressed member of the frame and the air intake is on the right side of the engine adding to the retro looks.

Features include:

  • Steel tubular frame
  • 21mm belt final drive
  • 298mm wavy disc up front with 2 piston caliper
  • 298mm disc at the rear with 2 piston caliper
  • ABS
  • 41mm KYB fork with 135mm travel
  • Dual rear KYB shocks with 110mm travel
  • Fuel injection
  • 2->1 exhaust system
  • LCD and LED tail light
  • Self cancelling indicators
  • 5 speed gearbox
  • Side stand

Compared to the standard XV950 you get better piggyback rear shocks, a buckskin covered seat, tank graphics and ABS and standard. The 12-spoke 19" cast Aluminium front wheel takes a 100/90 tyre and the rear 16" a 150/80.

Some of the many customisation accessories include Akrapovic slip-on mufflers (£580), mini fairing (£289), stiletto seat (£253), reduced reach seat (£162), springer bobber seat (£451), steel braided brake lines (£63), cool vintage style performance air cleaner, spoked wheels, leather panniers (£388), LED indicators (£52) and fork cover (£36).

  • 2014-2015: Grey, green
  • 2016-2017: Blue (new), grey
  • 2018: Black/grey

The £300 cheaper and 4kg lighter 2014-2016 XV950 was the same bike but with simpler rear suspension, no ABS or tank graphics and a cheaper finish to the seat.

The 2015 XV950 Racer is the same bike but gets you the flyscreen, fork covers, lower front indicators, lower clip-on bars, a 75mm higher seat, Aluminium side panels and pillion seat hump/cover

The 2017 SCR950 is a scrambler style XV950R, with a flat seat, wire spoked wheels (17" at the back), fork covers, taller braced handlebars and higher rear mudguard.
