Yamaha YZF600R Thundercat For Sale
The 1996 Yamaha YZF600R Thundercat is a mid-range sports bike and is powered by a 599cc inline four engine which puts out 98bhp. It was replaced by the YZF-R6.

What Is It?
It's powered by a liquid cooled 599cc inline four cylinder engine, producing 97.8bhp at 11,500 rpm and maximum torque at 9,500rpm.

- Dual 298mm discs up front with 2 piston calipers
- 245mm disc at the rear with single piston caliper
- Adjustable 41mm fork with 130mm travel
- Adjustable rear shock with 120mm travel
- 4->2->1 exhaust system
- 6 speed gearbox
Compared to the previous FZR600 the Thundercat has new more aerodynamic bodywork, new 36mm carbs, a new air induction system, new calipers and a new exhaust system. Technically the lighter and higher revving R6 replaced it in 2003 but some remained on sale through to 2007.
The 3-spoke cast Aluminium 17" wheels take a 120/60 tyre at the front and 160/60 at the rear.
