Aprilia RSVR Gen1 For Sale
The 2000-2003 Aprilia RSVR Gen1 is a dedicated sports bike and is powered by a 998cc V-Twin engine which puts out 128bhp. It was replaced by the Gen2 and Factory.
What Is It?
- Comfortable riding position, handling, suspension
- Hard work in town and on long trips, gets through tyres, high seat
Aprilia release the RSV Mille R as a more aggressive track version of the already capable RSV Mille. It was powered by a liquid cooled four stroke 997.6cc 60° V-Twin, with 4 valves/cylinder. Maximum power of 128bhp was achieved at 9,500rpm and maximum torque at 7,500rpm - that's 5bhp up on the standard bike with a slightly higher maximum torque point.
- Aluminium beam frame and swingarm
- Dual 320mm discs up front with Brembo 2 piston calipers
- Rear 220mm disc with Brembo single piston caliper
- Adjustable Ohlins 43mm upside down fork with 120mm travel
- Adjustable rear Ohlins shock with 135mm travel
- Adjustable Ohlins steering damper
- Fuel injection and shift light
- Basic slipper clutch
- 6 speed gearbox
The improvements over the base model add up to a 5kg saving in weight over the RSV, itself a bit lighter for 2001. Apart from the fully adjustable Ohlins suspension the R has a single seat (on a shorter subframe) and 25% lighter forged Aluminium wheels; 120/70 ZR17 tyres up front and 190/50 ZR17 at the rear. Elsewhere there are carbon panels, LCD speedo, shift light, clock, temp gauge and highest top/average speed this session switch.
2003 saw more a aerodynamic mudguard and tail re-design which also made it easier to get your leg over the rear.
Available colours: black/grey/red, yellow/red/black
2002: Noriyuki Haga Replica, 300 units, lighter Akrapovic Titanium exhaust system, Eprom fuel injection unit and improved torque curve. It also has the full rear sub-frame for easy conversion to to two up riding.
2003: Colin Edwards Replica, 460 units, basically as Haga but with higher pressure intake and adjusted throttle
