What Is It?
The Aprilia RSV Mille R is a dedicated sports bike. It's powered by a liquid cooled 997.6 cc 60° V-Twin four stroke engine, producing 130.3 bhp at 9,500 rpm and maximum torque at 7,500 rpm.
Features include:
- Aluminium twin spar frame and swingarm
- Dual 320 mm discs up front with Brembo four piston calipers
- 220 mm disc at the rear with Brembo two piston caliper
- Adjustable 43 mm Ohlins upside down fork with 120 mm travel
- Adjustable Ohlins rear piggyback shock with 135 mm travel
- Adjustable Ohlins steering damper
- Slipper clutch
- Solo seat
- Analogue + dual LCD dash
- Adjustable levers
- Fuel injection
- 2->2 exhaust system
- 6 speed gearbox
The RSV Mille R builds on the RSV Mille with Brembo Gold Series brakes, Ohlins suspension / steering damper, forged Aluminium wheels, Carbon front mudguard and a solo seat.
Most of the competition use 90° engines but the narrow V-Twin angle of the RSV yields a more compact engine at the expense of smooth running. To counter the vibrations Aprilia designed in dual balance shafts.
The 5-spoke 17" wheels take a Pirelli Super Corsa 120/70 tyre up front and a 190/50 at the rear.
Accessories include the Titanium exhaust.
Colours: Black/red, silver/red, yellow/red, white/black, blue/black

Up And Down The Range
The top of the line RSV Mille SP, of which only 150 were produced, appeared for racing homologation. It costs the best part of £23,000 new so don't expect to see many for sale or even on the road.
