Yamaha XJ6 Motorbikes For Sale
What Is It?
The Yamaha XJ6 is a mid-range naked bike and is powered by a liquid cooled 600 cc inline four engine, producing 78 bhp at 10,000 rpm and maximum torque at 8,500 rpm.
- Steel tubular frame and swingarm
- Dual 298 mm discs up front with Nissin two piston calipers
- 245 mm disc at the rear with Nissin single piston caliper
- 41 mm fork with 130 mm travel
- Rear shock with pre-load adjustment and 130 mm travel
- Easy action clutch, 4->1 exhaust system
- 6 speed gearbox
- Small under seat storage
The engine is from the FZ6 but de-tuned for improved low down torque at the expense of top end power, while the muffler is short and positioned under the engine for better mass centralisation. The 5-spoke 17" wheels takes a 120/70 tyre and the rear a 160/60.
The XJ6N is the basic naked version and is available in black, white, yellow and red. Moving up the £6,500 semi-faired XJ6S Diversion was wider mirrors and more protection but weighs 6 kg more. It's swaps the yellow scheme for blue.
From 2010 the fully faired £6,700 XJ6 Diversion F offers the best protection, has ABS as standard and is another 6 kg heavier. It's available in black, white or blue.
Accessories include the Aluminium rear rack, 38 or 50 litre top box, centre stand, chain guard and ABS (£350).
