Suzuki Gladius Review
✓Great value, enough power for the road, low friendly seat, economy
×Quite heavy, range, seat comfort
What Is It?
The 2009 Suzuki SFV650 Gladius is a mid-range naked bike which was originally launched in 1999 with updates in 2003, 2005 and 2016.
Engine: 645 cc V-Twin, 70 bhp
Economy: 50 mpg
Range: 160 miles
Seat Height: 785 mm
What Is It Like?
I've now owned my 2015 Gladius for exactly twelve months and since buying it I've put on 1,700 miles, including a 460 mile day out to London.
Shortly after buying it I had it lowered by 30mm, to aid my short legs touching the floor 🤣 I've also had a tail tidy fitted including the new rear light, but retained the stock indicators.
I found the seat to be a little firm on anything longer than a 30 minute ride so had it re-shaped and recovered.
The standard exhaust looked and sounded very 'ordinary' so I'm swapping it for an Ixil shot gun.
To Sum Up
Overall I really like the bike and on its MOT test it went straight through after adjusting the headlight beam.
