What Is It?

The Honda CBR125R is a learner friendly sports bike which replaced the NSR125. It's powered by a liquid cooled 124.7 cc single cylinder four-stroke engine, producing 13 bhp at 10,000 rpm and maximum torque at 8,000 rpm.

Features include:

  • Steel twin spar frame
  • 276 mm disc up front with two piston caliper
  • 220 mm disc at the rear with a single piston caliper
  • 31 mm fork with 109 mm travel
  • Rear shock with 120 mm travel
  • The 6 speed gearbox is based on the off road XR125
  • Electric starter

A cheaper to run, but arguably less cool, alternative to consider is the Honda CG125. In 2005 the Repsol colour scheme was introduced, costing £100 more and in 2007 Honda replaced the carburettor with fuel injection.
