The 2000 Vespa PX125 is a learner friendly retro scooter and is powered by a 123cc engine which puts out 9bhp. It went off sale in 2008 but returned in 2011 with a few Euro 3 compliance tweaks.
Pros / Cons
- Great at lower speeds and for short trips, reliable and stylish
- Best avoid the motorway, basic equipment
What Is It?
The "MY" PX125 launched in the UK in 2000, powered by an air-cooled single cylinder two stroke engine. The optional spare wheel sits in the left side panel.
- Front disc brake
- Rear drum brake
- Electronic ignition and start
- Halogen headlight
- Easy to maintain wiring
- Star shaped front wheel hub
- Glovebox and bag hook
The bike has a brake pedal in the right footwell and the four speed transmission is controlled from the left handlebar. If you are used to modern twist and go scooters this may present you with something to consider before buying. The 10" wheels both take a 3.50 tyre.
In 2008 production of the PX125 ended with a limited edition, featuring a wind shield, Chrome luggage carrier, Chrome wheels and white wall tyres. New EU emission laws effectively ended production.
Colours: Black, white, red
