What Is It?
The Vespa PX125 is a learner friendly retro style scooter and is powered by a 123 cc single cylinder engine which puts out 8 bhp. It has been in production for some time and 2015 marks the 38th anniversary of the model.
Features include:
- Steel tubular frame and bodywork
- Link arm front suspension
- 200 mm disc brake up front with single piston caliper
- 150 mm drum at the rear
- Electric and kick starters
- Glovebox
The PX125 returned in 2011 with a catalytic converter and re-circulation system to meet Euro 3 emission standards. The engine is an air-cooled two stroke and fitted with CDI electronic ignition.
The gearbox is a four speed manual design, controlled from the left handlebar and there is a foot brake. This might put off anyone used to standard twist and go scooters.
The 10" wheels both take a 3.50 tyre.
Unusually there is even a spare wheel positioned on the opposite side to the engine and there are plenty of after market parts for tuning the PX125 with a performance exhaust being one of the common upgrades.
The £100 extra 70th anniversary edition gets you the Chrome luggage rack and leather bag.
