UM Vegas Review
“ It provides a good bit of fun, has great looks and draws comments wherever I go. ”
What Is It?
The UM Vegas is a learner friendly budget cruiser and is powered by a Zongshen four stroke engine design.
Engine: 125 cc Single Cylinder, 12 bhp
Economy: 80 mpg
Range: 320 miles
Seat Height: 750 mm
What Is It Like?
I am a man in my 50s with a company car, a busy life and therefore my motorcycle is purely for stress relief and fun. I have a full license, having passed my test this year to avoid multiple CBT days, but prefer 125s as they are relatively inexpensive and fast enough to enjoy the numerous A roads where I live in the Chilterns.
With that said, I like something comfortable to ride. A bit different looks-wise and big enough to carry my 6 foot frame with ease.
Why The UM Vegas Sport?
I previously had a starter Lexmoto ZSX-F which I switched to the UM Scrambler S. The difference was surprising, with its water cooled engine and good power range, it was a fantastic bike; very nippy and fun to ride.
My main reason for switching to the Vegas, was that I had seen the other UM Renegades – Classic , Sport etc and thought they were very nice looking, but then saw the Vegas and fell in love at first site!
It comes down to personal preference, but I love the retro American style and big bike look and feel when you sit on it.
There were no reviews that I could find, so I relied on talking to UM owners online and got an overall great impression from Vegas owners. So I switched a month ago and so far am loving it!
On delivery, I loved the sound and feel. The controls are simple and I find the USB port on the speedo very useful.
It rides beautifully and has easily the smoothest gearbox that I have ever experienced. I enjoy the upright riding position and could ride for hours without discomfort. Overall the riding experience is of easy freedom.
Being a 125 it gets comfortably to 60 mph and will then creep up to 70 mph over a stretch. Incidentally the UM website shows 55 mph top speed, which although it's a cruiser and speed is therefore not the main consideration, is misleading and I’m sure would put off some people.
To Sum Up
So far I am loving the UM Renegade Vegas. I am up to around 1,000 miles and it runs very well over long or short distances, I will review again when a few months have gone past.
But so far I have no regrets and love the bike. I expect to keep it for a good while as it provides a good bit of fun, has great looks and draws comments wherever I go.

The Second Opinion
I love it, it’s comfortable, nice to ride and it looks great with its retro looks. I highly recommend this bike A+++++
